New 2022 NX 300 Release Date, Redesign, Price – Lexus debuted its compact NX 300 crossover in 2015, giving the automaker a more complete lineup to better compete in this red-hot segment. Since its debut, the NX has seen a handful of powertrain and tech updates. The 2022 Lexus will mark its most significant update to date, as Lexus redesigned this small crossover, introducing advanced tech, new safety gear, and updated looks.

Interior
Visually, the 2022 Lexus NX won’t be a big shift from its current design, which is nothing out of the ordinary for Lexus. The all-new NX’s key updates on the outside will include a new spindle grille with a new U-shaped insert pattern, updated headlights with integrated L-shaped signature lighting, a new rear logo, a full-length rear taillight, and signature L-shaped lights on the rear fender.

Inside, Lexus went much further in updating the 2022 NX 300. Inside, this compact crossover will feature a fully revamped dash and a more driver-focused cockpit. The updates will include a new 7-inch digital instrument panel, a 10-inch head-up display, a standard 9.8-inch touchscreen, an optional 14-inch touchscreen, and more.
Under the skin, the 2022 NX’s cabin will gain a new Human Machine Interface that enhances user interaction through sight, touch and voice, a Virtual Assistant, a smartphone-based digital key, real-time over-the-air updates, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
New 2022 NX 300 Engine
The 2022 Lexus NX will also gain a new range of engine options, starting with the standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder in the base NX 250. This standard engine will pump out 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque and will be available with front- or all-wheel drive. The NX 250 will hit 60 mph in 8.2 seconds with front-wheel drive and 8.6 seconds with all-wheel drive.
The 2022 NX 350 will boast a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine with 275 hp and 317 lb-ft or torque paired to a new eight-speed automatic transmission. The added power will ship the NX 350 to 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds.

The NX will also have two hybrid options in 2022, starting with the NX 300h, which pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine to a pair of high-torque electric motors for 239 hp combined. This model will hit 60 mph in 7.2 seconds and deliver up to 36 miles per gallon combined. All-wheel drive will be standard.
The newest addition to the NX’s hybrid lineup in 2022 will be the NX 450h+ Plug-in Hybrid. This crossover combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors and standard all-wheel drive for a six-second 0-60 time. Plus, its battery pack allows for up to 36 miles of all-electric driving. With its standard 3.3-kW onboard charger plugged into a 240-volt charger, a full charge takes 4.5 hours. The optional 6.6 kW charger takes just 2.5 hours.
The 2022 Lexus NX will come standard with the new Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which will include evasive steering and braking, left-turn oncoming vehicle automatic braking, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, road sign assistance, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and more. IIHS and NHTSA safety testing will come later.

Lexus plans to start producing the 2022 NX 300 in the third quarter of 2021, and deliveries should start shortly after. Pricing isn’t available yet, but we expect a noticeable increase relative to the current NX’s MSRP range of $38,635 to $47,935 (destination fees included). This compact luxury crossover will compete with the Acura RDX, BMW X3, and INFINITI QX50.
